Went back to one of those page kit pouches I had put together to play scrapbooking and managed to do a fairly masculine page (no flowers!) for these pics of my hubby on the boat trip when we were in Devon. I know there have been quite a few DT projects for Scrappin Saturdays recently so it was nice to play with other older stash this time!

I decided to cut the wood paper into strips (I wanted it to look more like a board walk type of background) and after distressing them stuck them straight onto the Secret Sea two tone cardstock on the darker side – I then used two papers which were old SU ones which were very vanilla and black for the other patterned papers – just the one strip of the bird paper and the text paper for mounting the pictures.
I did video the process and you can check this out on my YouTube.

I then went delving into the embellishments box and found loads of random things to add including die cut frames, a sewn envelope piece a tag and the words for the title.

Adding the ruffled seam binding helped to soften the page a little and I loved adding those little seagulls too.
I decided to add the journalling with a white gel pen direct onto the dark background and I think that worked well.

Really enjoyed making this page.
Happy crafting!
