30 day Christmas card making challenge – day 25

Colour challenge time and of course the Alex Syberia dies came out to play again – for the fifth time this month!

My interpretation of these colours … wildberry because I actually own that, then Lost Lagoon for the Lakefront and then Smoky Slate for the Harbour alternative. It looks like it is more of a blue than a grey from Martin’s cards he has made but never mind – I went with the grey tone instead!

So I die cut the flowers from white and then painted them with the wildberry and lost lagoon – I then also added a painted layer of the shimmer spritz in lilac and hydrangea to make them super shimmery!

The flower centres were then circle die cuts which were already cut out of the glimmer cardstock. I used the same for the letters.

Then I worked on the background.

The smoky slate lightly brushed through a Tim Holtz stencil. I then also added versamark through the stencil and added clear embossing to add texture.

I took a piece of pink cardstock and inked the edge with the wildberry and then spritzed the lilac shimmer spritz all over to give it a good coat of the mica.

I then splatter some of that onto the white background too.

Just love how this card came out and the pretty colour combo!

And as much as I don’t enjoy working with glimmer paper – those letters do look fabulous!

This is the final colour combo challenge for this month and I must admit I’ve loved doing these so much! Thanks Martin for the great combos!

And I am so pleased I got myself ahead on this challenge and made this early as my IBS has flared up again and been fit for nothing the past day and a half. At least I can look at the pretty card I made and that will help cheer me up!

Happy crafting!

Catherine
