Todays theme is ‘Use Fabric’!

I had a little bit of Christmas fabric left in my stash so decided to grab that, and hessian, red cotton, white cotton and seam binding to make three fabric based cards.

I also grabbed these super cute stamps from an old Creative Stamping magazine to make the focal images.

I roughly cut the red fabric to mount the patterned fabric on and then strips of hessian and some seam binding to either make ruffles or as a banner. I also stamped the winter warming accessories for the penguins and bear onto the red and fussy cut those to place onto the images.

I did use the wrong ink for the stamping as I used versafine and it bled slightly when I used my stampin blends for colouring in.

I did a little hand sewing and also the buttons were sewn on.

The sentiments were Tim Holtz rub ons which I added to the Kraft to make sure they worked with the rest of the card.

Inside each card I stamped the big sentiment (it’s a 6×6 card so it can easily accommodate the bigger sentiment).

Love how fun these turned out and it was good to use up that last bit of Christmas fabric.

Todays challenge came from what was left on the desk from the previous challenge… namely a pile of scraps! So decided to use the scraps to create some fun cards. And what is more I only had to stamp and die cut the sentiment oval for both as new elements … the rest was either already die cut or scraps from the previous projects!

So here is what I started with…

Of course because SU papers are double sided this gave me 12 patterns to play with!

I decided to create a patchwork piece by inking each piece and then sticking them onto some scrap old paper I had on the desk.

When this was finished I then cut it into 2 panels as background for these cards.

I then grabbed the leftover die cuts from the previous project and some gold laser cut embellishments to create a cluster. I then grabbed some Cherry Cobbler scrap cardstoxk and stamped and embossed and die cut the stitched ovals. I inked the edge to that too so it fit with the inked theme of the background.

What a fun and different way to use up scraps… told you I wanted to get through all the Tis the Season papers… well I’ve not got there yet but these have helped me!

This was a fun layout to make in my 2021 journal using wallpaper samples and some bits from Lollipop box club kits to document new blinds for 3 different rooms!

Back again with some more Christmas cards. After all I am currently waiting for the end of the Euros final so I can go and pick the no doubt stress ridden and maybe drunken husband up from his friends where he is watching the game with his friends. So now seems as good a time as any to update my blog.

This time I decided the theme would be to add flowers … not always something you think of when thinking of Christmas cards but I love these stamped images from an old Creative Stamping magazine so went to town and stamped 2 of each image and chose a slightly different colour scheme for each.

I chose some green papers from last years Tis the Season 6×6 dsp pack. I still have a fair amount of this left so really want to use it up so I can feel justified in buying new dsp from the next catalogue!

I decided to do the same fun fold for each card and cut the bases from Crumb Cake and scored at 10.5cm from one end as well and the centre so they can be sealed at the end and then a square element for the opening.

I cut each paper into a square and and a side strip and a small strip for the inside of each card … again keeping the dimensions all the same.

For the Shaded Spruce papers I kept the colour scheme to Real Red and Just Jade colours, and for the Garden Green to Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow colours.

I did lots of die cutting using both Tim Holtz dies and Artistically Inked dies.

I found some red ribbons in the stash to wrap the end part. And the sentiments I chose were from all sorts of different places.

I also used glossy accents to add some shine and dimension in different places.

So happy with these. Love the design of this simple but fun fold to make the cards a little different!

Now come on England… one more goal in the next 8 mins so we can avoid penalties.

Hello all!

Another design team contribution today for Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge blog.

This month I’ve used a mix of vintage images and the branch dies from Birds and More to create the main cluster. I then added the copper thread and the Butterfly as the main image.

The background panel i used basic white and stamped using the Artistically Inked stamp in So Saffron, then splattered with Daffodil Delight and the distress oxide in Speckled Egg.

I edged all the little vintage elements using the Vintage Photo distress ink and the Speckled Egg oxides too.

Really happy with the collection of little elements, the stamped background and the few die cut elements too. Also love the font of the sentiment and quite impressed with my fussy cutting if I do say so myself!

Inside the card I added a panel and repeated the idea of vintage elements and the Butterfly and white leaves.

So there you go… my contribution to the design team, and another card for the stash!

Challenge number 3 for my self imposed Christmas in July thing… and today it is all about the Masterboard!

So I actually have a little confession … I made the actual masterboard for this weeks ago when testing out some new stamps I had bought 2nd hand off a friend but never got the time to do anything with it… so it was perfect for incorporating into the challenge and get something done. It is A4 linen cardstock that has had lots of stamping and inking and stencilling and doodling on it.

I cut it up into panels… although the one tip right got trimmed again to make the tag and the strip adding to the 2nd card as an extra element so didn’t let any of it go to waste and made these 6 cards.

I love the Peace and Joy set from last years catalogue so much. Don’t think I will ever tire of using it!

I chose scraps of cardstock I had in the scraps pouch to cut all of the words out with their mounts.

I also used some scrap white cardstock to stamp and fussy cut out some more stars using the Jofy stamps and the Peace and Joy word stamps.

I added some tiny snowflakes as embellishments and on the tag card a scrap of sari ribbon.

The finishing touch was to add glossy accents to the top of most of the word die cut pieces to add both dimension and shine.

Love how the cards came out. So cool!

Hi again. More Christmas cards in July to share for my little July challenge. Thought I would keep it simple for theme 2 and do something I am familiar with… a one sheet wonder!

I chose a piece of 6×6 paper from the stash (Tis the season) and once I had cut it into pieces I mounted each piece on the coordinating Cherry Cobbler and then set about adding the gold embellishments to create each card.

I did choose 5×7 cards as the base and added some bits of ribbon and sequins as embellishments.

I also kept with the same stamp set as last time (Biggest wish) and combined it with the Peace and Joy stamp set for the word Christmas.

This final one I added the jar punched element too as a finishing touch.

Loved making these… and the gold makes a lovely special card.

Join me for theme 3 in a couple of days… I plan on putting that Biggest Wish stamp set out of arms reach so I might use something different! Lol!

So I have been neglecting making Christmas cards so far this year as I no longer could commit to CHNC and pulled out of the DT, so decided to boost my supplies for this year with a little Christmas in July challenge.

I looked around blogland in advance and couldn’t see any being advertised so I making my own challenge up instead. I’m not doing a daily challenge… just setting myself 12 themes and in some cases will make multiple cards for the theme. I am also aiming to use all existing supplies… no new purchases to do this! After all I have six zillion Christmas supplies!

So here goes… theme 1 … CASE a non- Christmas card to make a Christmas card

OK this one is easy… I am slightly obsessed with a card that Martin from Martin’s Mayhem made … so that was my inspiration. I grabbed VERY old Papermania papers to mainly make up these cards. I then took the card making on a slightly different twist by adding stencilling in the background and twisting the layout…. but I think the inspiration from Martin’s card is still fairly evident.

So super old stash used… and CASE of a non Christmas card achieved.

I must admit I was a little worried I might not get this done in time, but then Monday night I grabbed myself some craft time and made six cards using a piece of 6×6 cut from the Expressions in Ink dsp (I adore this paper and it was a challenge to cut into I promise!) and the coordinating stamps and dies, plus the Biggest Wish stamps which are my current faves!

I split the panels into pairs and so these are the two where I added the panel of Pale Papaya cardstock which I ran through the embossing folder to create additional texture.

Next these two I used Basic white and added some background stamping for behind the smaller panels of dsp and the embellishments.

Finally these two I added the Forever Gold elements as fun backgrounds plus the Pale Papaya cardstock to finish off.

Love the colours and the gold foiling in the dsp and those die cut leaves are amazing. Love how the stamps work well with the papers plus to create background elements too.

And those biggest wish stamps are still my favourites!

Anyway… this is my latest make for the Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog design team and now it is time to go visit everyone else’s blogs and see what they have been up to!

I decided to use the latest Lollipop Box Club kit to do a page about our trip to Dunham Massey. I videoed the process.

I also added the Pierced Blooms dies for the flowers and leaves. Love these dies so much!
