Not created a pop up card in a box for a while… so it was nice to mix up the cardmaking and mixed media stuff I’ve been sharing with this 3d creation.

I started with a piece of cardstock and used a template I found for a smaller size pop up box that is 4×4 in size when folded.

Then I chose papers in nice bright colours to add to each panel.

Then added some decoration using Petals and More dies and the same papers. Next I heat embossed butterflies on the papers and cut them out and added these on to some acetate strips so they could float out of the box! And two of the little ones on the top and front panel.

Finally I added the sequins and a sentiment to finish off!

So so cute.

Yesterday I shared the main spread I did for Linda but I also did some more pages for the fold in parts of her journal.

The video explaining it better is here. I say better… but the sound has gone all squiffy so sorry about that!

A change of pace from the other page but love this too! Also love I found a use for the twinchies I made and didn’t end up swapping… they worked perfectly on these pages.

Today I have a journal page I did for Linda… except I actually ended up doing a few pages for Linda… but today I am just sharing the one…

I didn’t get round to finishing on the video… Although all it was to add the patterned paper on either side and some doodling.

So I’ve finished off the cards I made at the beginning of the month for the gelli plate play session.

All of them I added shading using a big brush pen and Tim Holtz stickers for sentiments.

Some I added embellishment using sequins, card candi or stickles.

Love all of them and how they feel now they are finished!

Today I have a post about the tag I used scraps to add the background. I started with the gelli printed tag background that I created ages ago.

Then one day I was stamp sorting, and it led to me snipping off a small amount of the packaging to put them into new folders.

They looked so pretty all together so I decided to use them and add them to the tag.

Next to add the focal image. I chose a Hot Air Balloon stamp from an old magazine set.

I stamped the image onto patterned paper and added some shading using watercolour pencils. I added the sentiment stamped with oxide ink. After fussy cutting it out I layered it onto some tissue paper scraps.

Then embellished with buttons I threaded with bakers twine, and then added the fabric scrap as a ribbon to finish off.

Love how this came out and how it evolved from the pile of scraps

So it’s the day of Cupid so it is time to share the card I made for the hubby…

I decided to go with this cute digital stamp image and washi tape for the background. Then stamped hearts and the sentiments to frame the cluster. I then heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock.

I added some dots of enamel accents to finish off.

Cute!

The theme for the monthly postcard art swap was to use stencils. So I teamed it up with the gelli print play I had left and made this.

The bottom layer I stencilled green distress ink. The next layer was a gelli print I had created using distress oxides.

Then I stamped the tag from a gelli print on book print and masked off the heart before I added more stencilling using Iridescent medium.

Then I added the Darcy heart that I had stamped and cut out of another gelli print.

Lots of layers and pattern, and a cute little Tim Holtz sticker sentiment to finish off!

I decided to use some of the gelli printing that I created during my session with friends at the beginning of the month for the postcard I made for the UK Stampers forum swap.

I took the panel and added another layer of ink using distress inks in spun sugar and tattered rose. Then I added splashes of water to bleach them out.

Next I used a die cut I got in a swap gift and coated it with embossing powder. This gives it such a fab finish.

Then I added the Darcy heart stamped onto bookprint that I had created on the gelli plate play night.

I then used a stamp I found in the stash I don’t think I have ever used before to finish off as it amused me.

Decided as it will be Valentine’s day this week that love themed seemed appropriate for the UK stampers forum inchies this month.

I used little Gummiapan stamps amd archival ink to stamp them and then used distress inks in worn lipstick and wilted violet.

Then I finished them off with the spectrum noir sparkle pen to add the gold shimmer.

So a cute set of simple inchies this month.

My twinchies for the coin swap group for last month’s ‘words to live by’ swap were made in a couple of batches… first lot were made using leftover gelli printed and brayered off book print. I knew I wanted to use the word grow again so I stamped the flowers from Serene silhouettes and there was enough for eight inchies.

I punched out the main part of the image (2 weren’t quite wide enough to be the full circle but I didn’t think that mattered in the end). I then glued them down onto the coloured cardstock twinchies I had made from scraps. I thought these two colours worked well with the colours on the backgrounds.

Next I added doodling on each and the stamped part of a Clare Lloyd stamp to get the word grow.

Again I doodled round the titles to make them work with the focal image.

Really happy with batch one… especially as it meant I used up some scraps… but of course 8 would not be enough for all the swap participants so I had to make some more… but that happened on another day.

A few days later I used some distress oxide on watercolour cardstock and then stamped and embossed the flowers with white powder.

I then added some additional colour onto the image using the oxides and a waterbrush. Next I added the sentiment.

And finally I made eight more to make sure there were enough for everyone…

These I used the Awesomely Artistic floral stamp for the focal images and coloured them with two colours of pink SU inks and a green for the leaves.

Love how this looked on the pink cardstock… And the splatter stamp worked well too. Stamped my word onto separate card and then cut it and adhered it onto the twinchies.

And then three more swaps turned up… so three more quick twinchies made…

All done!
