Hi there.

Today I have a card I made for a colour challenge swap. 

Here is the prompt… 

And here is what I made…. 

I made a background using distress oxides using a mixture of stamping and blending and smooshing. I then added the white stencilling using gesso on the top. Once it was dry I added some doodling to turn the stencilled circle into a flower like the picture. I also added layers of coloured card and sequin waste.

Cute. I love sentiment from the sticker box and all done.

I have a whopping 14 ATCs to share with you! Get ready for a lot of photos. 

The starting point was the a3 sheet I did gelli plate printing on ahead of the class in early March. 

I never did get around to doing anything with it until last weekend.  When I gave up the temptation to cut it into atcs. 

I cut it a little smaller than the blanks and then cut black cardstock as the mounts.  This is just some of them. 

I then sorted them into some groups, grabbed versamark and embossing powder and went to town! Such fun! 

I started with these four… 

… a simple sentiment was all they needed I felt. I used for all of them my mixed powder which is red and black and gives a lovely mottled effect. 

Next was these two… 

I particularly like the one on the right where the pattern looks like a sunrise. 

The next three were using the big bold flower stamp from Artemio with different patterned petals. 

I also chose some sentiments from a magazine stamp set again mixing in the white embossing. 

I kept to that theme for the next few too. 

Again Artemio stamping combined with magazine stamps. 

The Artemio stamps were used for these two as well. Love these images even if they are a tad too big for atcs. But these partially stamped images worked fine.

And finally one more flower one but this time using two different stamps and the two different embossing powders. 

I do have a couple of pieces of the paper left to play with but I think 14 is pretty good for one session!

Whilst I was trying to sort out the piles of stuff on my craft desk I came across a lovely gelli print I had made last month and decided to do something with it . I decided to keep it simple and just add a bold image and sentiment and make it into a card.

I chose the Kim Dellow Paperartsy stamp and once I had stamped it using archival I then coloured the image using distress oxides inks. This provided a subtle colour.

I then stamped the sentiment using the Emma Godfrey stamps. I edged the paper with black ink and then adhered it to the cardblank. So much a lovely way to use up the gelli print.

I thought I should just do a post with so the random atcs left to blog from last month…. So here goes.

This is a painted background and then some bits and pieces from the desk … pretty butterflies! 

Another pretty butterfly sticker and a background that has lots of layers of ink and paper and paint … pretty.

A picture from the Artful Days goodie box plus some bits from other swaps. Also love the moody background piece using distress oxides which is an offcut from another project.

Right I think that’s all the random bits from March finished off. 

And three more for the challenge.

Today I have this card to share that I made using mainly decoarts paints and then Tim Holtz stamps for the main image and sentiment.

Really pleased with the way it turned out. Especially as I started with no plan except to play with paint.

Happy April fools day! 

Here is my contribution to the Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog for this month. 

I made this card as part of the stash my parents have… hopefully one of their friends will like it. 

I used Papermania dsp and then the sky’s the limit stamp for the main topper which I embossed with a lovely blue embossing powder. Very cool!

More atcs… this time random ones I’ve just got around to blogging! 

This first one is for the #52cafecards #maremiscreativecafe J is for Journey theme. I used the pigment rich Deco arts fluid acrylic paint for this and love the vibrancy of the colours. 

And the next is H is for heart.  Some stencilling and plenty of Inktense along with distress oxides.

Then this one was just playing with some distress inks and bits from the stash that have been gifted in various swaps. 

I love those little paper flowers with gem centres… very cute indeed. 

Finally this started off using bits from the Oh so succulent class Helen did but then got covered in gesso and completely transformed! 

The butterfly is also from a swap but I added opal magic paints on top of the distress oxide painting to give it the fab shimmery colours.

And with that I’ve reached 150 before the end of March!!! Wowser. That’s a lot of atcs I’ve done… and the same and more yet to go!

Today I’m sharing a project I was working on over a few weeks. I just grabbed time as and when I could to get them done. 

I started with a piece of patterned paper which had a marble effect on it and a chunk cut out for another project. 

To this I added texture paste through a stencil and lots of Brushos. 

Our centre dry I cut it into six ATC size panels. 

I then started gathering bits and pieces for them… sone turquoise paper flowers as the main feature with a wooden flower centre.

To three I added pearls and to three I added purple enamel accents.  The purple ones I mounted onto a bright turquoise atc base. 

I also added Tim Holtz stickers for the titles and some gel pen doodles 

The other three got left a week or so and then got added to navy bases. 

These had quotes added cut from an old calendar and I added glass bead gel too.

I love how the different finishes changed the look of the same base paper. Very cute and positive quotes are my favourite!

Hello. One last journal spread to share with you in round two of the Patwits circle journal project. This time it is Claire’s fab house shaped journal. 

I started with layering down different papers. I used the Tim Holtz tissue wrap, book papers, washi tape and then some stamping too using Hot picks stamps.

Then I added gesso. This made the background more unified. 

I also added some stencilling using modelling paste but it’s not very clear on the picture above.  Might be clearer on the close up below.

Next it was time for colour and I chose to use my Brushos. I chose warm colours to start and then also added the Jofy flowers. 

More colour… This time I was more specific in adding colour to the flowers. Once it was dry I added doodling.

I turned the stencilled pieces into flowers and added some doodles flowers too. 

There are also some liquid pearl and some copper acrylic ink spots too to add some shine and shimmer. 

The quotes are Tim Holtz stickers and I thought they finished off the page nicely. 

So that’s my last spread in this round and soon it will be time for me to get mine back too. I can’t wait to see and stroke all the amazing artwork. And then … off we go with round number three. Exciting!
