DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Happy 1st August! How are we already in August? This year has gone too fast already… it needs to slow down! Anyway… it is the first of the month and that means Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge starts again for the month and I have another design team contribution to share… I actually have a few cards from the same cardmaking session to share but this first one is the DT contribution…

I used papers and card topper images from Making Cards magazine published a few months ago for these cards. I teamed them with different colours of card and embellishments to make these rainbow themed cards.

Where I could I added sparkle with my wink of Stella pen or glossy accents to add shine and dimension. Hopefully you can see some of that on the close ups below.

Loved making these bright and cheery cards.

Now let’s see what everyone else has been up to with their stash of patterned paper over on the blog

Two catch up #52playingcardchallenge cards with yesterday’s masterboard

So yesterday I shared the masterboard I made last weekend (not this past weekend … I was at CarFest so no crafting was done!). Well I’ve now made two atcs which are part of the #52playingcardchallenge I’ve been doing and got rather behind on… so glad I’m starting to catch up again!

First up is this … “all that sparkles” contribution which I added some embossing to, glitter paper, and the fab sax from the all that jazz set I’ve been using quite a bit in the last month.

Next… using the same masterboard background… is this “the photograph” card…

I mean how different does that look? Amazing what adding a little distress ink can do!

So there you go … Two very different ATCs from the same masterboard and two cards in catch up for the challenge!

Thank you cards

Tonight I have some thank you cards to share… made using the latest papers and cute images from Making Cards magazine.

Just adore these adorable images. I did add some other papers from the stash along with the cardstock to add some contrast.

Landscape illustration cards

I’m still working through the backlog of cards made with Making Cards magazine stash… Today two landscape illustration themed cards.

Both of these made use of the same patterned paper and spotty card candi from the stash and I love the toppers contrasting against that hexagon paper.

Dogs with glasses

I am back from my weekend away and will be editing pics etc of what I made in the next couple of days and sharing them… but for now a post I had prepared… I found these fabulous images of dogs with glasses on in the stash of Making Cards magazine and needed to use them. I am currently trying to work through the backlog of the magazine stash and some of my patterned papers as I really have far too many!

Had of course to add glossy accents to the lens’ of the glasses to give them shine and dimension.

Aren’t these the cutest ever? Love the knitwear on two of them… they just look so cuddly!

So here we go four more cards for the stash and some more stash worked through!

Circle journal for Wanda

Today I am sharing the last layout I have for this round of circle journals… And it is Wandas fab envelope journal that I get to work in. Her envelopes were a fab texture and purple colour and I didn’t want to cover that up entirely so I decided on a paint scraped background. When I was half way through applying gesso i remembered to put the camera on to record the process. So if you want to see that… here is the link.

Now the final pictures…

I decided to use the lovely Darcy stamps as I love this character so much and wanted her in a magical land of fun flowers and lollipop trees.

So I used lots of layers of colour and mediums to create these interesting flora and had the watercoloured girl with her heart in her hands in amongst them all.

I added lots of sparkly and shiny finishes and I hope Wanda enjoys this whimsical page in her journal.

This weekend I am at a class with some of the other circle journal participants so we will no doubt be spending some time pouring over the finished journals that make their way to the retreat along with creating new art of course!

I’ll share what we are up to here on the blog when I get a chance.

Little girl ATCs

Today I have the three ATCs made from the masterboard I shared yesterday… it’s been a bit of a month of this techique!

I finished off the ATCs with lots of doodles and marks and then some printed vintage photo girls I had bought. The sentiments were cut from book print. And finally added some pearl accents for dimension.

Super happy with this…

Loved making these with no reason to make them.

Will probably post these on a swap group on Facebook to see if anyone fancies them!

Travel themed AT Coins

Another set of coins made… and another video… yes I’ve been full on video making recently!

So here they are…

I used the Creative Stamping magazine stamps to create the feature images and to add some patterns to the masterboard backgrounds.

Love all the white pen details and the texture of the embossing.

These are being entered in the UK stampers forum swap.

And a quick version of the video for those pushed for time…
