For ATC’S sake … 26

A single ATC to share today…

My batch of cut up Gelli prints was the starting point for this one.

I added torn strips of patterned paper a bit of lacy doily and a textured heart cut out die cut. Then added the little chair digital image which came from A Day for Daisies. It’s part of a set of garden chairs but I decided to just use one of them for this.

Finished  off with the flower and card candi and a little Tim Holtz stickers word and doodling with a silver pen. Then mounted it onto navy cardstock.

Happy crafting!

For ATC’S sake… 25

25 done…. already! Wowser!

And this is for another challenge!

I love the work of Marta who posts videos under Maremismallart on you tube.  She had now got a fb group called the creative cafe and the challenge this year is a playing card with a theme every week.  Week 1 (we’ve started a little late in the year) is ART.

My card isn’t going to be a playing card exactly but an ATC… if my card is the right size that’s fine… but I figure I will use a mixture of bases.

This started as the scratch paper from the class I did on Tuesday.  I added distress ink and some stamping using the Ghoulish Grunge stamp.

I then grabbed the woodware stamps I bought last week and used them to add the feature and sentiment. Then I added some doodling using both a black pen and my white sharpie paint pen.

I now have week 2’s card to make…. hopefully should get this done in the next day or so.

Happy crafting!

For ATC’S sake… 22, 23 & 24

Today I have three very different ATC’S to share. These are my attempts at drawing eyes which is a prompt over in a Facebook group where there is a weekly art challenge. I picked out some pieces of paper with random bits of paint on them and drew my eyes and then tore them out.

Next I chose three ATC’S I’d cut from cardstock I have been cleaning the brayer off on. I added the doodling round the edge and then glued the eyes onto their card background. Next some more doodling and a quote for each of them handwritten.

Love how these all came out and how different to my usual work they are.

For ATC’S sake… 21

Just a quick one today using the theme from wicked Wednesday atc blog of cats/dogs. I thought I ought to follow a few challenges if I was going to keep coming up with ideas for my 365 ATC’S in the year!

I used a cute dog embellishment that I’ve had in the stash for some time and created the background using paints and strips of paper. I then added some little doodles to frame it too!

For ATC’S sake … 19, 20

Hello.  Hope you are well dear blog readers.  Unfortunately I seem to have a head made of concrete as I have a cold and it’s gone straight to my sinuses. Just taking a little longer to get out of bed than normal but will be there soon!

In the meantime I have two more ATC’S to share in my year long challenge of 365 in the year.

These are two Gelli prints that I made ages ago and then cut up for using in this project.

I realised I needed some gesso on them to add some tooth to work with as I wanted to add distress crayons to add some more colour to them. I added some pink and blue to keep to the colour scheme of the purple in the background.

Next I added a doily cut up to be able of add to each of them.  I love the pretty texture a doily brings to a project.

I then had a hunt through my odds and ends embellishments box and found some pictures I wanted to add.

The one on the left has come from a book of “pretty” elements that a friend gave me … perfect for this sort of project. the one on the right is cut from a magazine and I thought it was perfect colours for the ATC so on it went!

So then I stopped trying to keep them similar! I trimmed down the left hand one a bit and flicked silver paint onto it and edged it with some ink. I also stamped around the edge with the Timeless textures flourish and some Perfect Plum ink.  Then I used an Inktense pencil and some water to outline the image and frame it. I unfortunately then flooded the paper with water as I pressed the spray bottle in he wrong way and the lid came off! oops!

Once it had dried out I added the sentiment, a little embellishment and an organza ribbon to the topper. Then mounted it onto a pink base.

Onto the other one. I added some Inktense, a piece of pink cardstock and then some transparent glossy texture paste through a stencil.

Once this was dry I could add more colour by using distress inks and a blending tool.  Again I found this quote and added this and flower to the card.. then trimmed it down a little and added some doodling and mounted it on pink card like the other one.

Love how these two came together and both look similar but different at the same time!

Two more done!

A watery journal page!

Today I don’t have any atcs to share with you… instead I have a page I inserted into my Dylusions journal and decided to do an ocean inspired page. Why ocean inspired? Well I’ve joined a Facebook group where there is a prompt each month… and this month the prompt is ‘ocean’ … so this seemed like a good idea to go for when I only had about 10 minutes play time…

This was what the page looked like at the beginning… lots of wiping off of stencils and brushes.  A perfect starting point for a watery background.

And this is how it finished…

I added more paint and some painty stamping using the Indigo Blu stamps … then added the sentiment and the embossing of the fish and the seaweed.  Then I finished with the little dots of liquid pearls and some gilding wax around the edge.

A quick and easy page markers.. so nice to get back into my journal.

Happy crafting!

Atc class with the inky fingered Cat gang (for ATC’S sake 13, 14, 15)

Tonight I have the crafty gang back at my house for mixed media fun. With everything happening last year we had to cancel last year by July so it’s been a long time since we’ve got together… I expect there will be a lot of chatting … perhaps more than crafting! Ha ha ha… I shall have to crack the whip!

The request for the class was to create atcs of the sort I made for the Artful Days goodie box a few months ago.  So I came up with the following three ideas.

This is a mix of distress ink, stickers, book print, embossing and iridescent medium through a stencil.

This is gelatos, tissue paper, trim, gilding wax and embellishments and finished off with some liquid pearls.

This is using paint as the medium and including stamping and different textured pieces of media. I love the metallic blue frame and the glittery gold combination inside the frame.

Wonder if the ones we make will be anywhere close to these samples? Or if we just spend the night chatting!

Either way… three more ATC’S for the challenge…

Happy crafting!

For ATC’S sake… 11 and 12

Another two cheat ATC’S as these were from 30th December… but again these were made with this challenge in mind from the Artful Days goodie box.  I can’t stress how amazing the value is with these boxes. I have barely scratched the surface and just adore all the bits and pieces.

These started life as packaging from a stamp set just like the ones I shared the other day and got a few coats of Paperartsy fresco finish paint in Mermaid and Bora Bora. Then I started with the goodies. They both got some of the patterned tissue paper and then a strip of patterned paper which I wanted to use as contrast.

Next I took a couple of the vintage photos and added them.  I then started adding the flowers and pearls etc.  Next some ink added and watered down to provide some shading. I also edged the whole atcs with black archival ink to frame them.

Love how these came out and as I said… so few things have been used from the Goodie box.

Happy crafting!

For ATC’S sake… 9 and 10 (cheat)

OK today’s atcs are a slight cheat as I actually made them on Christmas Eve.

They are pieces made from the Artful Days goodie box super sale box. Julie asked me to make some things using the bits from this packed box … well I was spoilt for choice so started small and here are my ATC’S with the theme of butterflies/moths.

I used Distress ink onto a gesso piece of scrap cardstock  (packaging from a magazine stamp set) and added some of the patterned tissue paper (think this may be ranger paper but unsure).

I used a mixture of the ink from my pads and the distress ink pen within the Artful Days box.

Once this had dried I added a little bit of my favourite paint… art alchemy opal magic … just to add some sheen to the piece.  Then I added the embellishments of the flowers and pearls and a sticker from my stash.

This was made in much the same way except I added a fabric butterfly and added ink to that to add definition and then the cute little metal flowers. The sticker came from my own stash.

This is probably only using about 1% of the box that Julie sent me… it is packed beyond belief with beautiful items that can be used in so many ways. Looking forward to digging in and creating more when I have a bit more time on my hands.

Happy crafting!
