Hello! This week Hazel has challenged us to use non traditional colours for our Christmas card make for the CHNC blog.

This is what I came up with…

I used some papers I had had for a long time in the stash that are pink and lime and then added this fun embossed image.

I brushed over the image with my clarity stencil brush to define the image.

I also added an embossed sentiment from Blonde moments and the peel off strips to add a different texture.

The swap theme for this month’s swap is bits and pieces and I decided to just go with stuff that was on the desk to make three coins…

This resulted in an eclectic mix of coins.

This has a fabric background that I sewed before cutting to size and then some random bits from the stash.

This has a decent amount of beads and glitter and lots of resin flowers from Artful Days Goodie boxes.

This is a scrap of painted paper and another painted paper die cut and then a wooden laser cut word I added black gesso to it.

Love how these came together easily and using just bits and pieces off the desk.

So this fortnight the challenge is nail polish technique. Now this was new to me but great fun!

I started with shaving foam in an old canvas and then dropped in some nail varnish, one of which is shimmery. Then I pulled some prints…Love the marbled and random effects…I decided to use the prints as a background and to paper piece a Gorjuss girl.I coloured her with promarkers and chose promarkers to edge the panels too.Love the shimmer in the nail polish paper. So cool!

Finished off with some card candi, some gifted die cuts and a butterfly and some Tranquil Tide cardstock.Still got some prints left to play with on another day, so will no doubt share what I do with them when I get round to using them!

How quickly did that week disappear? For me unfortunately the week was spent in bed poorly but never mind. At least I had this prepped in advance … another design team project to share with you. This time the theme at CHNC is Winter Fun. I used a stamp from a magazine set and coloured it with promarkers. Love the little figures all whizzing by on their skates!

I die cut the circle and edged it with my pen and then added it to a card I had already made up with the Papermania papers and some red cardstock.

I finished it off with a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment and some sequins.

Hope you like this. Now off to see what the rest of the team did for their winter fun!

Today I’m sharing the twinchies I made for the Time coin swap participants last month… I went for a masterboard and made lots of twinchies from this.I used Paperartsy fresco finish paints and Indigo Blu stamps.Then I cut it up into the twinchies…Next I added some doodled edges and embossed the sentiment.Then I added a shrink plastic embellishment of a clock/pocket watch to each one.I used a mix of black and white shrink plastic to create different effects.Happy crafting!Catherine

So many DT contributions today… and the CHNC one is to use a bear on my Christmas card… so of course I had to use this polar bear from the Creative Stamping magazine set. I do love this bear.

I chose a Winter Frost paper background and then used my promarkers to colour the bear. I hope you get a sense of dimension with the shading I used.

I also added a strip of white with the sentiment and a strip of Tranquil Tide to mount it and give the bear something to sit on.

I added sequins and then some glossy accents to the bears nose and eyes for dimension and shine.

I am very late with this one… it should have been finished two days ago and shared yesterday… ooops… better late than never though!

The theme for this fortnight at Back to Basics and Beyond challenge blog is Triple stamping and I hadn’t done this for a while.

I used a background stamp and my stamp positioner (platform) for mine.

First I cut the papers and the mats for each layer. Then I stamped just the paper.

I chose to use a few shades of the teal ink for my card.

Then I layered them up.

I decided to finish with the Petal Palette flower image, a band of pink cardstock and a pink card blank I made.

I also added the light turquoise sequins.

Love how the bold background is softened by the image.

Following on from the inchies I made and shared a couple of days ago I also made a sunflower ATC using the rest of the embellishments from the stash…

I added them to a distress oxide background that I had added some gorgeous grunge stamping. I also added a printed sentiment and some sequins.

The second flower based ATC I made was very different in style. This one I stamped and watercoloured using watercolour pencils and then embossed the sentiment on top.

A very simple but pretty ATC.

Love how different they both are.

Hello! Have another set of coins to share today where I used the time theme.

This time some distress ink backgrounds which I then added some glass bead gel through a stencil. I then added the stamped image and then added a stamped word.

Love these.

This evening I am going to celebrate the marriage of Jayne (one of my raggy doll sisters) and Simon along with a few of my other raggy doll sisters. I can’t wait!

So as by this time I will be partying this is a scheduled post to show you the card I made.

I chose to use Spellbinders dies for the background and then Stampin Up Petal Palette stamps and dies for the floral elements and the Mr and Mrs stamp again from Stampin Up. I kept to a soft pink colour palette using two tones of pink cardstock and watercolouring the flowers which I had embossed in the champagne embossing powder.

I gave the elements some dimension with foam tabs and added some dots of liquid pearls around the focal images.

Love how this all looked. The inside of the card is similar but a lot more simple…

Leaving me plenty of room for my message of love to the happy couple!

So happy for Jayne and Simon. May they enjoy a lifetime of happiness together.
