Use up a magazine kit #16 – three KCC19 cards

Three more of the KCC19 cards made up as part of my Use up a magazine kit series.

This time I went with glimmer foiling to add some other elements!

It started with the stripes on the sketch which went behind the top paper element and it made me think of the stripe glimmer plate so decided to foil this one – but once I had the glimmer out I went through and looked at other sketches where I might add the same stripes to do them all at the same time!

So this first one I added the purple foil directly onto the patterned paper element.

As I chose the square card blank I turned the back panel to ground the panel and then added the floral stamped image to link the two sections of the card.

Adding texture to the background panel with the Painted texture embossing folder gave a nice finish too!

The second card I added the foil on the banner panel of the patterned paper using the satin gold.

My learning point on this card is I should have checked how straight it was and trimmed it accordingly as the stripes are slightly off kilter!

For all three I used a stamped flower made from the two size of images layered up. On this and the third card I also added leaves but by masking the flower so it is one piece not separate leaves layered up.

Card Candi make perfect flower centres for all three cards too!

The final one I added the purple foil to the background cardstock.

This sketch has all the circles with just two circles of the patterned paper. Adding the foiling really helped to step up the card into something special.

I changed up the colour of the flower and the leaves to coordinate with the papers and the cardstock. Apart from turning the sketch I kept this one very similar to the sketch and although I added it to the square card blank it worked well. Adding the sentiment across the topper and the base helps to connect them.

Also that foiled cardstock of the circle behind the flower works so nicely to have the pink foiling as well as the purple in the background.

It is good to get another three cards made for my series and of course a big thanks to Kendra for the fun sketches!

Happy crafting!

Catherine
