The slimline papers from Kingston Crafts are perfect for making long DL type shape cards and so I grabbed one to make this simple card.

The brocade type pattern is so elegant and would make a great background to lots of different images but I went with these leaves. I decided however to see how it coped with inking and it turned out that it coped really well!

I used the vintage photo distress ink to edge the panel which I did cut down to give a lovely border to the green card base I made from cardstock from the Christmas pack.
Then I used scraps of colours of cardstock in my stash that went well to create a striped panel. This gave my cluster of leaves somewhere to sit.

I inked the panel and the leaves to coordinate.
Then I made lovely bow from some waxed thread which I added where the leaves were clustered.
I decided to raise the panel up on foam adhesive and then when I added the foiled sentiment trip I added that on foam too so there is quite a bit of dimension to the card.

Inside I added a plain panel but also some offcuts of the patterned piece to just edge the inside.

Not a challenging card to make but a really effective one – having those longer panels of the patterned paper really help with this shape of card!
Happy crafting!
