I loved this stamp that came with the Making Cards magazine last month and the bright and cheery papers that came with it.

I chose to create two cards using the stamp and colouring them differently.

The first one I went for a shabby look. I mat the paper onto some coredinations card which I had sanded the edge of. Also I distressed the edge of the paper first.

Then I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla and coloured the image with Inktense blocks and a waterbrush. Again I distressed the edge. This time I took the wine glass paper and brushed it with a stencil brush to give it some staining and make it less white.

I added the gorgeous pleated ribbon and tucked the paper and image behind it.

I then added the sentiment too.

The next one is more bold and I coloured the image with promarkers. The sentiment for this is from the Half Full stamps as I thought it worked well with the focal image.

I love the use of circles with the dotty paper!

So there are my two girly best friend cards. Fun and love how different they look.

I have some cards I made using the fab Mama Elephant stamps … this time the cats came out to play too.

I stamped the full image and coloured them with promarkers and then die cut the image using two different dies.

This gave me two different card toppers. I created the cards using bright Daffodil Delight cardstock and some scraps of papers. I like the bold look of using the promarkers… it creates a very different look to the watercolour.

For the Dogs I used watercolour pencils to colour them and again chose some scraps of paper and then some Crushed Curry cardstock for the bases.

So two different looks for these super cute stamped images and different from yesterday’s tag too. And love using part of the big image rather than just leaving it as it is… makes the set even more versatile.

I recently had a bit of a splurge including buying these fabulous stamps from Mama Elephant that I have been NEEDING ever since I first saw them months ago. So this is my first play with the Dogs Woof stamp… and I created a thin panel by masking and stamping different parts on top of each other. I used the stamp platform to ensure I got good crisp images.

I then added a very diluted amount of white gesso so I could add colour on the kraft cardstock. I added the colour using watercolour pencils and a waterbrush.

Once they were all coloured as I wanted them I edged the panel and then layered it onto another piece of kraft with a layer of waxy paper in between. I then punched a hole and added the string and ribbon.

This cute tag was made for the UK stampers forum swap last month so I hope the recipient likes dogs! Lol!

Hello… and how quickly we have already got to the beginning of April.

Today I have another design team contribution to make for Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge…where the challenge is to use some… you guessed it… patterned paper!

I managed to use two pieces of patterned paper, two washi tapes strips and a digi image I have had coloured for about 2 years just waiting to be used!

I wanted to keep it quite simple this month as the sentiment and image needed to be subtle and quiet against the pastel papers.

Now off to see what others have been up to with their stash of patterned papers over on the blog.

So tomorrow is Easter which in our house means chocolate! But I realise for others it has far more meaning. So sending wishes for you this Easter no matter what meaning you add to it.

I did make a set of Easter cards from a set of papers in a Making Cards magazine which I am sharing with you today.

I used the papers and images from the magazine, some scrap cardstock and ribbons and sequins from the stash to make these fun cards.

I started by fussy cutting the six bunny images which are super cute and then used the patterned papers to create backgrounds and multiple layers.

Then I chose cardstock from my stash I thought complimented the papers to mat and layer and added in doily pieces to soften too.

Then I went through the ribbon basket and pulled out twine and ribbons that I thought worked with the cards to add to them.

I either stamped an Easter sentiment from Stampin Up or used alpha stamps to create the sentiments choosing a few different ways to add the sentiments. Then added sequins in colours that worked with the cardstock colours and papers.

I love this final one with the netting bow. May have to buy more of this netting trim as it works so well for fun added texture for cards.

Yesterday I shared two more masculine cards using the Half Full stamps and papers from Making Cards magazine. Tonight I have a girly card using the papers and stamps.

I kept it really simple with the jazzy striped paper and added the mount of Melon Mango and then another piece to the top. I added a die cut sentiment and then some ric rac stickers from the stash to add a little pop of colour.

The stamped bottle I decided to add pink elements with promarkers. I then added wink of Stella for shimmer. Then I added the sparkly gems to finish off.

So a pink wine card… perfect for so many of my friends.

Today I have a couple of cards I made using the Half Full stamp set and some papers that came with the latest Making Cards magazine.

I thought these stamps worked perfectly with the wine glass patterned paper! I decided that as the rest of the papers made things quite feminine that these would be good for more masculine cards.

I chose some cardstock for coordinating with the papers and mat and layered with them. First a blue grey coloured cardstock. I also used some of the stripey paper as a mat.

I edged all the layers with promarkers in a mid grey colour to give them a border. I then stamped the bottles and coloured the bottles using promarkers. I added some grey brads and a foiled sentiment.

The second card I used Tranquil Tide cardstock which I thought worked well with the green bottle. I added some piercing to embellish and this time black brads to add the sentiment tag. This time I used ink to water colour the images.

Really enjoyed mixing these papers with the Half Full stamps.

Earlier this month I held a crafting session with friends and I never got round to sharing the cards I ended up making during the class. As per usual I swapped things up so I wasn’t making the same as the samples…

The theme of the class was watercolour and florals and I love how differently these all ended up.

I had to play catch up on this challenge as didn’t manage to do much creating when the parents were here so I had two weeks worth of cards to do.

I started with week 11 and the prompt was

get texty

So I grabbed some scrap that had texture paste through a text stencil and added that to my playing card. Then gesso. I then added distress crayons (I really wanted to play with them for some unknown reason so out they came!)

I did a little stencilling and then grabbed Jofy stamps added some text down one edge. I then coloured some book print with the crayons and stamped the new Jofy mini stamp flower head.

I cut it out and adhered it to the card. I then did some additional stamping with the circles in the same mini set.

I added some bits of white paint to these and drew in a stem for the flower. I then dropped some of the pebeo fantasy paint onto the flower for the stamen.

The next week’s prompt was

“opposites attract”

and I decided to gather some contrasting materials to add as a collage. These are all things that I was attracted to that contrast…. so my opposites attract!

I started with a white gesso base and more distress crayons. Then added some stencilling to bring back the white. I then added a raffle ticket that was on the desk. I then arranged a cluster of papers of different types (vellum/waxed paper/patterned paper) and stapled it to the card. Then added the canvas strip and the thread and mirri card.

Finally I added some stitching and doodling.

Not exactly a thing but an enjoyable collecting of fun patterned and textures and colours from my desk!
