Doodles butterfly atc #214

Today we’ve been out all day at Chester Zoo which was fabulous.  I’ve taken loads of pics which I will share once edited.

No crafting today so happy I have a project already made to share with you.

I took a piece of the patterned paper I had cut from a book and then went to town with doodles. I then added colour with spectrum noir pencils and black and white pen marks.

Fun!

Happy crafting!

Gelliplate play #213

Hello. I have a simple ATC to share that I made from a piece of gelli print.  I used a Craft Stamper magazine stamp to add the flower on the print heat embossing.

I then added doodles to the background and then mica to the flower.

I then added the phrase from a magazine. Love how this came out.

Happy crafting!

Collage ATCs #211 & #212

I decided to make some ATCs out of random backgrounds and some collage materials cut from magazines.

This one was an advert for a version of Jane Eyre. I added it to a scratch paper background which had some tissue paper adhered to it too.

The next one features a yummy pic of antipasti… could just dig into that right now!

The background has lots of stamping and doodling.

And then the next one is a drink to accompany the antipasti!

A gelato background and then some doodling too!

These were fun to make and so different to the creations of the last few days.

Happy crafting!

ATCs using Trish Latimer stamps 209 & 210

Yesterday I shared some ATCs I made using new stamps I had got from Trish Latimer. But it wasn’t my first use of them…

I actually filmed my first use!  And this is what I made…

This is coloured with promarkers and then collaged onto the background. The background has a spritz of the mica spray and then stamped the stitched circles from Artful Days Goodie box.

Then this one I stamped directly onto the background and coloured using the spectrum noir pencils.

Love these stamps and can see me grabbing them often to use on ATCs and cards!

Happy crafting!

Find peace  (207 & 208)

I have no words for the terrible events of the last 24 hours in Manchester. Senseless tragedy.

I absorbed myself in artwork tonight and made two ATCs.

I used a new stamp and then used book print to paper piece the dress. I also added colour using inks and distress oxides.

I made a background from some map book pages and layers of the distress oxides.

Then I added the stickles on the star and the added the panel onto some blue cardstock. The second card was created the same but with a different colours for the girl.

So tomorrow is a new day and I imagine new horrors will be revealed about what actually happened but alongside this I am sure there will be many stories of heroes and helpers and human spirit which will always beat evil.

Love to Manchester.

Happy crafting!

I was AWOL again! But I’m back #206

Hi

Sorry I disappeared for the past week or so as my parents arrived back and promptly turned our world’s upside down for a bit with hospital stays, an operation and then recuperating time. So no craft for the past week or so for me.

However tonight they said goodbye (they are leaving the UK to go back to Spain for another 7 weeks) and I reclaimed the craft room.  Firstly I filmed the unboxing of my latest Artful Days goodie box and then I made an ATC to get myself back into the swing of things.

The starting point was this painty scrap of card.

I added some distress crayons in stormy sky and crushed olive to the parts not painted and smudged them with my finger and some water.

This created a nice earthy tone.

I then took one of my magazine pages I had put to one side and chose the image of the Sagreda Familia in Barcelona to add on as a collage.

I have been wanting to put my Dyan Reavley class to good use for a while so it was fun to do it… albeit on a small scale and not as odd as I did in the class.  I also cut the word Barcelona out of the magazine and did some doodling and edging.

I then finished with a stamped sentiment.

I love how this finished up and looking forward to making more collage ATCs in future using magazine pics etc.

Love how the distress ink comes through the paint on the background too.  A fun mix of media.

Right I’m going to sort out the unboxing video now… link

Atc replay! #205

Hi

I was asked to remake an ATC which is usually impossible as each one I do is unique due to the nature of them being handmade. However I could make one similar.

This was what I ended up making…

A gelli print background with additional distress stain added then embossing.

Hopefully by the time the recipient gets it she will be happy with it.

Stamp platform playing (201-204)

I filmed my first use of the stamp platform… but then messed up the editing and lost the video so it has now disappeared… however more importantly here are what I made with what I did on the video.

These two ATCs were made from the handcarved stampin up stamp I did using the stamp platform.  This first one I added some fish themed stamps and then the embossed seahorse. I also added some washi tape and sewing just to add some additional elements and then the title. I finished off with a generous amount of distress oxide watered down for the edges and over the stamps.

The second one I did some paper piecing with the girl from Beautiful You stampin up set.

I also added stamping onto the background using the Gorgeous Grunge stamps in a couple of blue colours. The title is stamped using clarity stamps.

I added the grey shading to the image and the edge of the letters using distress oxide in Iced Spruce.

This one I created with lots of layered stamping (only possible with the stamp platform!) and the Oh so succulent stampin up set.

Next is the one I created the multicoloured stamping in the background with the platform.

I finished it off with some flowers I got as an extra in a swap and a little additional stamping of the title.

I also added the little pearl accents to the centre of the flowers for a little bling!

Finally the card I made colouring the stamp with markers. I love the multi coloured stamping.

So there you have it… a few finished projects! And I can safely say I love the stamp platform. So please I have got it and looking forward to more playing with it for some other techniques.

Happy crafting!

Tag swap for UK stampers forum

This month there was a new swap arranged for UK stampers … to decorate a tag.  I chose to do one of my black tags. Although there is very little black by the end.

Gesso brushed roughly on the tag to provide a good prime for the surface and then added some distress oxide in blues and greens.
I stamped the Dictionary background randomly all over and then the Everything Eleanor swirl.  I also added some stencilling with a Paperartsy stencil.

I then grabbed some scraps of paper and added paint and ink and then added it to the tag. Onto this I stencilled the iridescent medium triangles.

The main feature is the heat embossed post & butterfly stamp panel (an old Craft stamper freebie stamp) which I coloured using distress stains.  The sentiment is a finnabair one.   I did lots of doodling and outlining and then added some fun pieces of trim and ribbon to finish off.

Such fun to make.

Happy crafting!
