Today I have another set of Christmas ATCs I made using up some scraps off the desk and trying to use stamp sets I haven’t used in a while.  These ones were all using a set from a Creative Stamping magazine.

I started with some white cardstock I had cut down to just a bit smaller than ATC size so I could mount them onto the pink card bases I had got. I then took my mini gel press rectangle and added ink in the Melon mango and a spritz of water and used the gel plate as a stamp. I then added the Wisteria Wonder ink only round the edge of the plate and stamped it again. This gave a darker edge to each of the prints.

I then chose different stamps for each of them. This one above I chose the houses and then the flying Santa and reindeer. I chose to do it landscape. I then added in the lights of the houses with a white gel pen.

The next one I kept quite simple with the tree and sentiment but also added a little bit of extra pattern in the background by adding the snowflakes in the wisteria wonder.  I then added the glitter glue to add the necessary sparkle.

Next up is another simple one. Similar to the one above I added some stamped snowflakes and then chose the deer silhouette image and sentiment. And of course more glitter glue.

The final one I used the snow globe stamps. It was a tiny bit too big for the panel but I think I got away with it just about. 

So there we are… four more ATCs … four card toppers towards the Christmas stash created. Cute and a bit different. I love the finish that the gelli plate creates when using it to add ink as a stamp.

Today I have a YouTube video to share with you of a card I made using the fabulous Everything Eleanor stamp set. This really is a classic set and I hadn’t used it in a while. But I still love it. 

And here is the card I made. I did loads of masking and then watercoloured with the inks. I love the way the early espresso blended with the pinks.

Love the sentiment from Watercolour Words too… Perfect!

Today I have a tag I made for a swap to share. I grabbed a black tag from Ranger and started adding distress oxides onto it. As they are slightly opaque they can be used on darker cardstock… just don’t expect the colours to be the same as when on light cardstock. 

So I started with a base of frayed burlap and layered up a few layers before then starting with the stencilling and stamping.

I added some dots from the Watercolour wings set and then stencilled some dots too. Then I stamped the main butterfly image with three colours of oxide. This created a subtle but beautiful feature. I then took a sentiment from Beautiful you and embossed it in white and doodles round some of the dots too. 

I decided the butterfly needed more emphasis… so out came the white gel pen again… 

Love how this came out.

Hello there… well the summer is coming to an end and it’s nearly time for me to go back to work and the princess to start at high school! And as it’s the start of the month it’s also time for my contribution to Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge. I really do have so much patterned paper to work through!

These particular papers came with a magazine along with the dies for the bird and the stamps I used for the sentiment. 

Such a pretty set. Really need to get making more using these papers. But for now I’m off to see what everyone else has been up to with their patterned paper.

I spent a bit of time sorting out the desk in the craft room a few days ago and came across some papers that were freebies with Making Cards magazine and was inspired to make some cards using scraps of card stock I already had lying around and the papers. I added embossing (heat and dry) and die cuts and stamping to make the cards special. 

The collection of papers was title Together and the images are so cute.

So three anniversary cards and one engagement card for the stash and pleased to have made something from bits and bobs on the desk. The good news is that there are still more of these images left to work with and then a whole load from another collection still to get started on from the same magazine pack.

Today I have four ATCs I’ve made using my favourite medium ever… distress oxides! So yes another entry for the Paperartsy challenge on their blog and four ATCs towards my 365 challenge. But once again I’ve broken the no more Christmas in August rule… and made 4 ATCs as card toppers for my Christmas card stash. 

I started with a piece of cream cardstock from the stash A5 size and used the square gel press mini to add the inks. I used broken china, peacock feathers, iced spruce and twisted cotton.

This provided a pattern to the colour albeit a loose pattern. Next I added stamping and stencilling. I used a mixture of SU stamp sets new and old and used the same colours of ink to add the stamping and the stencilling. 

Then I cut my pieces… I cut them slightly smaller than the ATCs and also cut some cardstock to the right size for the bases. 

I do have some little pieces leftover but none big enough to make into a complete atc so I’ve set those aside to use another time.

Then I went about adding feature stamping. For two I added stamps from a retired stamp set… White Christmas.

Then I used Wonderland for this one. 

Then the last one I used Carols of Christmas to add the baubles and deer silhouette. 

I used the Tim Holtz stickers for simple sentiments. I love all of these and they are quite flat so perfect for card toppers for when the time comes to mount them and make them into Christmas cards.

Ooops… I did say no more Christmas cards before the end of August… but then I accidentally made one! Ha ha ha! 

It started off as a scrap of card and before I knew it … it was a Christmas card! 

Using Sheet Music, Watercolour wash and the Carols of Christmas turned a few pieces of card onto a fun vintage themed card. Ah well so much for my leaving Christmas until after August had finished!

Another play in my Dylusions journal last weekend led to this spread….

I used a mixture of distress stain spray and distress oxides to create the background using stamps and stencils. As the colour was added over gesso it gave it a lovely pale and creamy texture.

I added the stamping of the circles from #badassartchick stamps across the bottom and then added some of the Tim Holtz tissue wrap in the centre of the two pages. I then added the swirly sizzix die cut and then the cute Trish Latimer fairy. I had coloured her with promarkers and then added the Art Alchemy Sparks paint to her wings and the star. I also splashed some of the sparks over the page to add the sparkle. 

I absolutely love the sketchy nature of this focal image against the washy nature of the background so super happy with this page.

And yes another creation for the Paperartsy challenge over on their blog for using Hybrid inks.
