DT: Kingston Crafts – glitter glues & vellum kit

Today is (inter)national scrapbooking day and I am hoping to join in with a few challenges later but have some errands to run this morning so decided to make my #scrappinsaturday post one of the design team samples I already had ready to share.

I wanted to make a very different for me scrapbook page by incorporating the glitter glue – don’t know why but it isn’t something I often think to use when scrapbooking.

But I think you’ll agree it really stepped up the chipboard shapes to make them fun!

I started by inking and then coating the chipboard shapes in glitter and then left them to dry.

I decided that the photos of our Peony tree in bloom was the best subject to use the glittery flowers with so started with a base of the pink with a smaller panel of the vellum at an angle. Then I wanted some quite graphic lines in there to contrast the softer pretty elements so decided to sew some wonky boxes using my machine.

This gave a fun base to the page. I added my photos and then started assembling the flowers and leaves in their glittery goodness! I glued them in place and then left it overnight – it’s always important to remember it can take a little longer to dry on vellum.

Next morning I finished the page – adding in the title, some stickers and the journalling.

Really love how the glittery flowers and leaves give the page some real wow factor!

Keeping the rest of it quite simple allows the photos to shine with the glitter elements adding just the extra touch of sparkle.

Also love how the colours of the glitter work with the layer of colour underneath – so cool!

So a fun scrapbook page – I think quite different in style to my normal pages but I love it!

And yes … as seen on tv

Hope you manage some creative time today!

Happy crafting!

Catherine
