Art journalling session catch up

Sorry for the tardiness of this blog post but just realised I never got round to sharing what we made during the FLIGHT art journalling session.

Well I chose to work on a piece of cardboard from my junk journal… and created this..

I used paper collaged in the background and then paint brayered over. Paint through a stencil. Stamping in archival and paint.  The Bird and cage were a Big die that Kathie bought.  I cut them out of music book print and then added ink and in the case of the Bird gesso too.  Plenty of doodling and outlining and then die cut the butterflies out of the book print too. Finally the flowers were kindly donated by Kathie to finish off the birdcage.

Kathie made the following bright and beautiful page…

I love her bright colours and the wistful composition of the Bird watching the flock. Gorgeous!

Mara made this delicate page…

Amazing how the same die cut can look so different. I love the gentle flowers swaying in the breeze behind the birdcage.

Mo worked on a canvas board to make a picture for one of her daughters and she chose fairies to represent flight.

This art work is so pretty and beautifully put together.  Love how Mo created this.

It was a chilled out evening for us all.  Nice to just create alongside each other.  Looking forward to our GRATITUDE themed session next month!

If this has inspired anyone to make flight themed artwork I’d love to know… Please do leave me a message.

Happy crafting!

Catherine
