Canvas and Mixed Media art, Gelatos, Faber Castell, Indigo Blu, Masks/Stencils

Quick update from art journalling session

Just a quick update with what we made during our art journalling session where the theme was GRATITUDE.

Linda concentrated on drawing a face.  No pics as yet but will hopefully update once she has finished it.

Mo worked on a canvas board again and made this delicate and pretty piece…

Mara brought some pieces for her page in her junk journal…

Karen chose a delicate palette for her page in her journal and although it’s not finished it is looking great already…

I went a bit mad with letters for mine…

And very much using the lessons learnt from the weekend added layer upon layer of colour and texture.  The page already had a bit of texture paste on it that was wiped off from other projects and using up pre coloured paste.  I used lots of odd letter stickers and thickers and added them to the page before adding gesso and paint.  The little letters were added later using letters out of the die cut that Mara had brought.

I also used some Indigo Blu stamps that Karen had brought to add the alpha stamping in the backgrounds too.

The sentiment was one I had printed for the class and I added this to the tag which I had been painting as I went along and added the little die cut heart to.  I decided to have it overlap the page and once I’ve decorated the other side I will add some trim to dangle off the tag as I think that will be a nice touch to soften the page more.

I also created a palette page like in class on Saturday… Here it is at the moment… interesting to see how these develop… and glad there isn’t the massive amount of black like Saturdays.

I did quite a lot of stamping using other people’s stamps and a bit of die cutting for other future projects and also worked on another journal background whilst I was doing this page… that was fun trying to multi task!

A lovely and relaxing evening with friends! Perfect therapy.

Happy crafting!
