DT: addicted to stamps and more – Birthdays #463

Hello! Welcome to my blog!

I decided to make up a very different type of card for this Addicted to stamps and more design team challenge from what I have been making recently.

I grabbed the digital image I’ve had printed for a while and coloured it using my promarkers.

I then rummaged round in the stash and found these nautical themed dsp and made the background up from them with little pops of the lime green as mats. Then I added the sentiment and some lime card Candi as embellishment.

The card itself is using Mango Melody … so more bright and zingy for the cherry card!

Happy crafting!

DT: Creative Knockouts – Celebrations

Hello! My first design team contribution of the year is this card I made for Creative Knockouts using the image Funny little turtle from Streamside studios.

I found the Whale of a Time papers in the stash to go with the theme and coloured the image using my promarkers.

As I will likely be using this for one of my great nephews birthdays in a few months time I kept the right hand side free for adding the number for his age nearer the time.

I also kept the embellishment simple with just some Card Candi and wink of Stella on the balloon and the hat for the little turtle ! 🐢

The sentiment I added the embossed strip as well as the larger happy from Biggest Wish.

Love how this came together and isn’t he just the cutest guy?

Happy crafting!

DT: Creative Knockouts- Anything Goes

Hello hello hello … and here is what will probably be my only Halloween card of the year made as part of the challenge over at Creative Knockouts blog. The challenge is actually anything goes but I was given this fun Coso Pumpkin image to work with by Mirtallemente so Halloween happened!

So I actually did something a little weird with this … I printed it out and coloured it using stampin write markers (alcohol markers moves the printer ink so hence the normal pens instead).

But after colouring it I coated it with three layers of versamark and clear embossing powder to create a shiny tile type effect. I love the transformation and the way this traps the ink.

I mounted the panel onto black and then worked on the background. I used some orange cardstock and cut a card blank and then a slightly smaller panel for the background. I added inking to the edges and stencilled some bats using an old Tim Holtz stencil.

I then grabbed some random pieces of patterned paper which I thought worked with the image I decided and went for the distressed look by curling the corners and placing some underneath to peep out. I also inked the green a little and then gave it a massive amount of splatter using both the black soot ink and also some black wink of Stella for shine and sparkle.

I added the focal image with some black brads and then I black heat embossed the sentiment onto the orange and then fussy cut it out.

A perfectly spooky fun card … really enjoyed making this card. I’m popping it in the post to my cousin who I know loves Halloween!

Happy crafting!

Stampin Up Sunday – Whale of a time Dsp

OK confession time… I actually made these during the craftalong zoom session I had a few weeks ago and have saved them up for a Stampin Up Sunday blog.

I was using the Whale of a Time dsp I had been given and I’ve nearly finished using it up… probably got enough for another 2 or 3 cards max.

I decided to fill the backgrounds on the cardblanks and then layer up panels before adding the fussy cut whales/ turtles and some dies cuts and a sentiment.

There are just so cute! Love how they all came out and they were super simple to make.

I have to admit I would never have bought this paper but it is gorgeous and fun to play with and because of the ones you can cut apart to create the focal points you don’t need to also have the coordinating stamps to work with it!
